Photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their own food.
In this process, they need:
- water
- mineral salts (they are disolves in the soil)
- sun light
- carbon dioxide (CO2)
In this process they obtain:
- sugar (glusoce) which is the energy they need
In this process, they release:
- oxygen (O2) that other living things need for breathing
The photosynthesis takes place in the leaves.
In the leaves there is chlorophyl. Chlorophyl helps plants to make a chemical reaction and transfors water, CO2 and mineral salts into sugar.
